beauty, truth, presence, aliveness

About Your Host

Katelyn Wargo
is a local writer, Yoga Nidra facilitator, Usui, Holy Fire®, Karuna®, and New Earth Reiki Master Teacher, partner, mother, and friend. She most recently hosted a women’s writing retreat in December of 2025 and hosted a handful of day retreats at The Barn With “Inn” in West Virginia prior to moving to the mountains of Western North Carolina. You can find her facilitating monthly Yoga Nidra & Reiki experiences at Asheville Salt Cave, as well as hiking, sipping coffee, and enjoying time spent with loved ones.

In the Way of Beauty

Katelyn is currently working on a book of poetry and the making of a year long living memoir - 52 Weeks in the Way of Beauty - devoting herself to the practice of intentionally placing herself “in the way of beauty” and writing from what it reveals. This movement was born from discovering that beauty, when noticed on purpose, can steady the body, shift perspective, and make room for both grief and joy.

Inspiration

This day retreat is inspired by this movement - an opportunity to place yourself in the way of beauty at one of the most stunning venues in Western North Carolina, and witness the living poem born from it - a poem of aliveness, friendship, witnessing, reflection, softening, presence, and/or a complete cracking open of your heart.

altered sight

When you leave this experience, you will see differently.

You end up confronting the parts of your life you’ve been surviving.

The parts where you've kept the peace and carried everyone else while abandoning your own body, desires, and truth.

The parts where you've convinced yourself that fine is enough.

And on and on…

These parts; these patterns, repeat until they're seen.

My work is to place you in the way of beauty, story, truth, and your own body long enough that something begins speaking again.

To see the patterns.

To reveal what has been running beneath the surface.

To help you remember the woman underneath the adaptation.

Because once you see it, you cannot unsee it.

And once you feel what alive feels like in your body; once you see...

there is no going back to a half-lived life.

So, are you coming?

Christine guides women back to themselves — to the devotional woman within — through embodied film portraits.
Your session with her isn’t about perfection. It’s about touching the part of you that has been whispering for years: Come home. It’s a pilgrimage into your deepest prayers — a shedding of the borrowed selves, a return to the bare-boned wildness that has always belonged to you. This experience is ancient memory rising through your modern body. It’s communion — with your own flesh, with the land beneath you, with the life you were meant to be living.

Yasemin is a chef, herbalist, and artist who blends her Mediterranean culinary roots with love of Appalachian influences. Her work centers on creating vibrant, nourishing meals that honor resilience, seasonal abundance, and the preservation of communal storytelling through food.
